The frenzy surrounding the new James Bond film Spectre (released Monday October 26) is at fever pitch, and there’s no shortage of ways to stylishly get in on the action. Aston Martin is auctioning off a specially produced Bond car, Bollinger has released a cuvée, Omega is launching a Bond iteration of its Seamaster Planet Ocean watch and even Washington DC’s International Spy Museum is paying tribute to all Bond baddies of yore in a special exhibition. Belvedere Vodka too is serving up its own twist, and as official partner has created a limited-edition collection of two bottles in homage to the martini-drinking British secret agent.
Spirit connoisseurs will be most drawn to the cutting-edge Belvedere 007 Silver Sabre (£170, exclusively at Selfridges, first picture). The sleek magnum is equipped with a Q-like device, a waterproof LED light that illuminates the polished metallic bottle, highlighting its 007 laser etchings. With hints of creamy vanilla and rye, and almond and Brazil nut notes on the finish, the luxury Polish vodka is as velvety smooth as the spy himself – and has the awards to prove it.
While the Silver Sabre will no doubt be the standout centrepiece at any Bond-themed party (and beyond), the 007 Spectre Belvedere Pure (£36 for 70cl, available at major supermarkets, second picture) should not be overlooked. The design features the iconic 007 gun logo and, on the back, a recipe for a “shaken not stirred” martini.
The recipe is one of four that Belvedere has created and released on its website to commemorate the 24th Bond film – alongside a twist on the classic dirty martini and the Italian-style Belvedere Double O aperitif. Four exceptionally elegant concoctions that Bond would order with pride.
