Raise your glasses – Veuve Clicquot has teamed up with London hotel 11 Cadogan Gardens to present a five-course tasting menu (£99 per person) on Thursday July 4. Hosted by Ethan Boroian, Moët & Chandon’s champagne ambassador, and Adam England, head chef at the hotel’s restaurant Hans’ Bar & Grill, the dinner will pair Veuve Clicquot’s finest rosés with a carefully crafted menu.
England, one of London’s most notable chefs, has concocted a dinner featuring canapés of seared tuna and smoked salmon, followed by gazpacho, lobster, duck and blackcurrant soufflé. All will be teamed with rosés, including Veuve Clicquot’s La Grande Dame Rosé 2008 with the lobster and Vintage Rosé 2008 with the main course. The Rich Rosé, so called because it is sweeter, will be served with pudding.
“We love pairing rosé with dinner menus, as it helps dispel the myth that rosé champagne is sweeter than blanc, which is not the case,” says Boroian.
This evening is the first of its kind for Hans’ Bar & Grill, which opened in June 2018.
