Triple-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck will begin a three-month summer residency at the Odyssey restaurant in Monte Carlo’s Hotel Metropole on June 8. The man behind Rome’s renowned La Pergola will join the Metropole’s celebrated Joël Robuchon and executive chef Christophe Cussac (winners of three Michelin stars at the hotel) for the dinner pop-up, which runs until September 30.
Odyssey’s poolside setting and Mediterranean views will make an apt environment for Beck’s seafood-centric, Italian-inspired cuisine. Menus (from €150 for starter and main, excluding drinks) include some of the chef’s most popular dishes, and will grace the tables of the Karl Lagerfeld-designed space (which includes a striking Grecian-style mural).
Expect lobster medallions with celery, green beans and turmeric; fagotelli pasta alla carbonara (ravioli-like parcels bursting with pecorino cheese); and rich, creamy risotto with Parmesan cheese, aubergine and mozzarella. Menus draw on seasonal produce from the south of France, as well as Beck’s favoured Italian artisanal breads and assorted ingredients, and tables are likely to go fast for this unmissable epicurean experience.
