With so many members’ clubs, speakeasies and on-trend restaurants opening up, the once fusty Square Mile is becoming something of a destination in its own right. And, its repertoire of things to do is about to broaden, with City institution Coq d’Argent joining forces with Fat Buddha Yoga founder Jessica Skye to offer classes with panoramic views of the City.

The restaurant will open its rooftop garden for one-hour vinyasa yoga sessions (£15 each or £56 for four) at 7.30am every Thursday from May 25, and the classes will run until September. Skye – who also runs yoga classes at The Hoxton hotel and the Old Truman Brewery – is also a DJ, and will bring her own Ibiza-inspired mixes to the sessions. After, there will be breakfast available to buy from the restaurant featuring Greek yoghurt with berry compote or other toppings, Bayonne ham and tomato eggs Benedict, and smoked salmon with spinach eggs Benedict. There are also vegan options such as crushed avocado and hazelnuts on toast or beetroot and potato rosti with honey dressing.

“The views at Coq d’Argent are breathtaking,” says Skye. “We hope to achieve a sense of calm while looking over the bustling city.”
