Experiential travel company &Beyond is joining forces with conservation initiative Great Plains, to relocate up to 100 black and white (second picture) rhinos from South Africa (where poaching is at an all-time high, with one rhino killed every nine hours in 2013) to Botswana, where they can be protected.

All clients who travel with &Beyond make a financial donation to the company’s conservation projects. For this campaign, which hopes to raise $8m, it has created special “sponsorship packages” from between $5,000 and $1m. If a client donates $50,000, they will receive a two-night stay for two at &Beyond Phinda Mountain or &Beyond Phinda Forest Lodge in South Africa, or Xaranna (first picture) or Xudum in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, where they can take part in the rhino-preservation initiatives. A $100,000 donation includes a three‑night stay for two guests and two one-hour helicopter flights around the camp.
