Lalique has long collaborated with the world’s leading artists, architects and designers and the latest to add his name to the French house’s hall of fame is the sculptor, painter, designer, photographer and filmmaker Arik Levy. Together they have created scaled-down crystal versions of Levy’s Rock series – a collection of large-scale mirror-polished, stainless-steel artworks that will be available from February 25.
Conceived by Levy as a “journey to the centre of the earth”, RockStone 40 is a collection of 40cm-high multifaceted crystal sculptures crafted at Lalique’s workshop in Alsace by its Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen in France). The pieces have an ethereal quality and are realised in four nature-inspired colours: amber (fire), blue (water), green (sap) and clear (light). Only eight of each colour (priced £16,000 each) will be released worldwide.
