Last autumn, at the Only Watch charity auction in Geneva, a one-off titanium-cased Patek Philippe Triple Complication Chronograph raised $6m in aid of the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy. Next month, the watchmaker will put another unique piece under the hammer, donating all proceeds to Children Action, a foundation that provides children in need in seven countries with access to healthcare, education and psychological support. The 5524T-010 Calatrava Pilot Travel Time will be the only titanium version of this watch ever made; its sapphire crystal caseback reveals the calibre 324 S C FUS mechanical self-winding movement and bears the inscription “Children Action 2018”. The auction, hosted by Christie’s, is part of the Children Action gala at the Four Seasons Hotel, Geneva, on October 15.
