Cask-aged gin that no elephant could forget

Profits from the sales of Elephant Gin’s limited edition new quaff support elephant welfare in Africa

Founded in 2013, Elephant Gin is an award-winning brand that supports three African elephant charities: for each full-size bottle sold, 15 per cent of profits are donated to Big Life Foundation and Space for Elephants; while for each miniature bottle sold, 15 per cent of profits go to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for orphaned elephants.

The latest addition to the company’s gins is Elephant Aged Gin (£59 for 50cl), a limited edition spirit aged in oak – almost all modern gin goes into stainless-steel tanks after distillation – to create “elevated smoothness, silky spice, sweet smokiness and a hint of vanilla”. The gin contains the signature mixture of 14 botanicals – including baobab fruit, buchu and African wormwood – found in all the brand’s gins and each batch is named after an elephant from the past or present.
