Working in collaboration with Zadig & Voltaire and the up-and-coming young Italian photographer Micol Sabbadini, Christy Turlington has created a capsule collection of three T-shirts (£75 each) bearing striking photographs taken at last year’s 2017 Women’s March in New York, which saw more than 400,000 protesters gather outside Trump Tower. All profits will go to Turlington’s charity Every Mother Counts, which she founded to raise awareness about the 300,000-plus women around the world who die each year from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Turlington herself suffered a near fatal haemorrhage after the birth of her first child in 2003 and subsequently made a documentary film, No Woman, No Cry, chronicling the stories of pregnant women at risk in countries from Tanzania to Guatemala. Her charity now also invests in programmes dedicated to providing women with access to good healthcare.
