Every year in Africa ivory poaching and the destruction of habitats are responsible for the deaths of over 33,000 elephants, putting the species at risk of extinction within the next generation. Last month, Tiffany & Co launched the Tiffany Save The Wild collection (from £145), a selection of charms and brooches in 18ct rose gold with diamonds, or sterling silver with tsavorites, in the shape of tiny elephants. All profits from the range will go to the Elephant Crisis Fund, a joint initiative by Save the Elephants and the Wildlife Conservation Network in partnership with the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The ECF works across Africa and Asia with elephant research and monitoring projects that aim to stop poaching, tackle the demand for ivory and fight its illegal traffic. Tiffany & Co is looking to hit its fundraising target of $1m by January 2019.
