For the second year, the Rosewood hotel near Covent Garden is running its Mini Wishes campaign in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. From December 1-12, Father Christmas will take to the streets of London in a vintage red Mini Cooper encouraging people to go online to make a wish (£1 a wish). Three of those wishes will come true when they are picked from a hat at a fundraising gala dinner (table for 10, £2,000; single seat, £250) at the hotel on December 13 – last year saw a little girl getting the bicycle she’d dreamed of and a group of students donating new books to their local primary school library. The dinner will also include a live auction of luxury travel experiences. All profits from the gala will be donated to the charity.
