Every year the luxury beauty brand Chantecaille creates a new cosmetics collection to raise money for a conservation charity: this year’s cause, inspired by a family trip to the Masai Mara and in time for the party season, is Lion Guardians, a nonprofit working to encourage the peaceful coexistence of people and lions in Kenya and Tanzania.

Chantecaille’s Protect the Lions eye palette (£75) features four African-landscape-inflected colours – copper, burgundy, slate grey and a gold-flecked sand; there is also a rosy-pink powder blusher (£35), all beautifully embossed with the head of lion.

The lipstick (£30), infused with natural beeswax and vitamins A and C, is available in nude, coral and rich berry. Five per cent of proceeds will go to the charity.
