Switzerland’s horological heavyweights are flexing their creative muscles for a worthy cause this September when they join forces for OnlyWatch 2011. Thirty-nine of the world’s most prestigious watchmakers, among them Tag Heuer, Audemars Piguet and Ulysse Nardin, have each submitted a specially created, unique timepiece to be auctioned without reserve at the Monaco Yacht Show. The auction will be conducted by Antiquorum Auctioneers.

All proceeds – over €2.5m at the last auction – will benefit the Monaco Association Against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which supports research into the illness that affects over 250,000 young people worldwide. From the end of August, the covetable collection will be taken on a world tour, with pieces such as Chopard’s yellow-toned LUC OnlyWatch Engine One (pictured) and Celsius’s four-years-in-the-making X VIII Le Dix Tourbillon (an innovative phone-watch hybrid) stopping off in New York, Beijing, Milan and Geneva.
