Canny travellers with 2011 on the brain are already booking spring/summer escapes in Italy. A handful of stunning new private villas from Unique Properties & Events (www.cedricreversade.com; all price on request) should top their lists. Villa Arrighi (first picture), above the Niccone Valley in Umbria, has five en-suite bedrooms, a cottage, an 18m overflow pool and several light-suffused living rooms for exploitation of its sublime views. And on Capri, the magnificent 18th-century, six-bedroom Villa dell’Arco (second picture) sits far above both the Certosa di San Giacomo and Marina Piccola, while the more intimate five-bedroom Villa Gesomino directly overlooks the Faraglioni, its sleek interiors punctuated with poppy pink and lime green against whitewashed walls.
