One-off bags that celebrate Fashion Week cities

Miu Miu doesn’t present its ready-to-wear autumn/winter 2012-13 collection until the final round of the New York/London/Milan/Paris Fashion Weeks – in the City of Light on March 7. But the cool marque is cleverly keeping our interest piqued with its current launch of a clutch of 46 beautiful handmade bags – each unique – in all four voguish cities.

Retro in shape and structured (though a little too fancy for Baroness Thatcher to dangle from her wrist) with a snap closure, these ladylike yet snazzy bags up the ante with their juxtapositions of materials (17 different combinations) and decorations. The exotic range includes croc, ostrich, teju-lizard and python, and some of the bags have lurex Jacquard, patch brocade, linen and glitter, plus studs, embroidery and other artisan embellishments. You’ll simply have to follow the fashion crowd to NYC, London, Milan and Paris to view all the combinations, as they are city-specific and available right now in Miu Miu stores. (Two of the London variations are pictured.)

As the bags start from £1,295 each, you’ll be grateful for the unique ID card and mini book resumé that shows all 46 variations – and can have fun spotting the 45 other lucky bag ladies.
