There are murmurs of a soon-to-launch men’s collection, and its cabana-style pop-up (in Selfridges until late September 2011) is proving to be a hit. But right now London’s one-stop shop for destination wear, Heidi Klein, is jetting off to Porto Montenegro.
Landing in the Unesco World Heritage Bay of Kotor, the brand’s first international pop-up will stock its spring/summer 2011 line of swimwear – from chic black-bowed numbers (Nassau bikini, pictured, £190) to coral-patterned designs (Reethi halter neck swimsuit, £175) – along with requisite matching kaftans, maxi dresses and the brand’s beauty products, including the popular Sea-salt Scrub (£30, 175ml).
“This is the start of a wider initiative to reach out to our customers while they are on holiday,” says Penny Klein, the brand’s co-founder.
It’s an initiative that itself seems to be à la mode, as cult boutique Wolf & Badger is also temporarily setting up shop in the Bay of Kotor today (until September 2011) – catering to a clientele partial to holidaywear from the likes of Sia Dimitriadi, Jasper Garvida, Hentsch Man, Braille and FB Collection – alongside some similarly fashionable pop-ups, including Irwin & Jordan, London-based jewellery designer Carolina Bucci and swimwear brand Vilebrequin.
