Hoping for a lazy Sunday in Shanghai

Day: 1 | 2

I have decided to be very lazy today. I got up late, I even managed to find the FT Weekend, truly my favourite newspaper, and I spent the morning in our beautiful garden, sipping green tea. It is not so easy to rest in China, even when you really have decided to do so. The reason is that China is always on the move and it seems that people are working seven days a week (actually they often work six days a week, 10 hours a day).

There are always some customers, often by then friends, who are in Shanghai over the weekend and want to see me. So even if I had decided not to work this Sunday, I had selected a big pile of books from my bookshelf (a beautiful one, very special, as it was the bookshelf of Wimbledon public library, probably from the 1930s, and I was lucky to buy it from a small flea market in south London in late 1990s).

I am currently working on several great architectural projects which should help to shape the future of all the Chinese development projects; well, at least I hope that I am bringing a different point of view…

As I have finished my blog for this week, I realise that I have truly enjoyed sharing my thoughts and feelings from the other side of the world.
