A Giorgio Armani suit is a classic gold standard for many men, and customising it to your personal taste sounds like sartorial heaven. This is the idea the brand has introduced, sending a top tailor from Milan to international Armani flagship stores for a two-day visit to meet and fit clients.
The service is made-to-measure rather than full bespoke, but the client is given a wide choice of cloth, buttons and linings and can choose a softer or more tailored shape, single- or double-breasted jacket and pleat-waist or flat-front trousers.
Too much choice, perhaps, for some, but expert help ensures that you get the best look for you. Suits (from £2,000) come in standard sizes but are, of course, adjusted to fit. There are still appointment spaces on the tailor’s visit tomorrow and Saturday (April 8 and 9) at London’s Sloane Street store. Such visits will happen once every season, so if you can’t make it now, you can be first on the list for next time.
