February 24 2011
After a very restful sleep I head to my office. The day after the show is of course not as busy as the previous ones but I still have lots of meetings throughout the day. But I feel more relaxed; I sit at my desk while I sip a cup of tea and read carefully all the reviews of my show. I want to know how my collection has been perceived by the press and I also have a look at what the most important bloggers have written; they are playing a bigger role in the fashion system, so I think it’s important to listen to their voices.
After that, I join my sales team in the showroom. The first appointments with the most prestigious buyers are scheduled for tomorrow so I want to make sure that my sales managers are well prepared to sell and present the collection in the best way.
We go through it together: I explain the fabrics, the colours, the patterns, the shapes… from time to time I’m briefly interrupted by phone calls from my friends who want to say hello and congratulate me on the show.
After lunch I have a meeting for a very special project – an organic capsule clothing line that Emma Watson and I have designed together and are about to launch. This collection is a way to further demonstrate to people the importance of being green, and I’m super excited about it. And it was lovely to collaborate with her, she’s such an amazing girl. The pieces will be sold through my website very soon so I want to check that everything is ready for the big launch.
At mid-afternoon I meet Alexandra Shulman, the editor in chief of Vogue UK, for a coffee; we sit on the terrace of my office and have a very nice chat together.
Before leaving the office I realise that the week is almost over, time goes so fast! I’m still not sure about what to do during the weekend. I might go skiing or relaxing in a spa; I will have to make up my mind tomorrow morning.
