Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is celebrating its 150th anniversary on Thursday November 25 with an exclusive fundraising bash at the neighbouring landmark Battersea Power Station. HRH Prince Michael of Kent will join a pack of top-dog guests and entertainers including rock legends Roger Daltrey and Roger Taylor, popette Alexandra Burke and West End stars such as Ryan Malloy from Jersey Boys.
The Home – which has provided sanctuary to over 3m dogs and cats since 1860 – has remained true to its founder Mary Tealby’s commitment never to turn away a dog or cat in need of help, and 150 of its finest four-legged friends and their handlers will form a guard of honour to greet revellers arriving at the champagne reception, which precedes a banquet (no dog’s dinner, this).
Other fundraising events on the night will include top-tier auctions and a Tree of Life raffle – think über-special fashion goodies such as a Vivienne Westwood gown, a Giles Deacon dress, Rupert Sanderson evening shoes and a limited-edition Rolex watch (worth over £10,000); while, for bons vivants, various private-club memberships, a meal at Roussillon restaurant and high tea at The Egerton House Hotel are all up for grabs.
Don’t miss out: this party really should be the mutt’s nuts.
