Art13 London, a new fair specialising in contemporary and modern art that takes place from March 1 to 3, not only boasts an impeccable pedigree (its directors were co-founders of Art HK), but also has a unique partnership with the Positive View Foundation, which hosts exhibitions and sales for charity (its 2010 auction raised £500,000 for Crisis).
The fair will sell photography from the foundation’s inaugural exhibition – which showcased the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson – and preview pieces from March’s Landmark: Fields of Change show, a collection of work by some of the 21st century’s most important contemporary photographers. All profits will go towards providing professional development for disadvantaged young people. An auction of more than 125 signed and original works will follow at Christie’s on May 15.
