While the opening test of the British and Irish Lions rugby union series against Australia doesn’t kick off until June, five HSBC Legends of the Lions lunch and dinner events are taking place across the UK and Ireland between February and May as a preamble to the tour. The fundraisers will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the quadrennial series, with Lions past and present in attendance, including Gavin Hastings, Gareth Edwards, Jeremy Guscott and Willie John McBride.

Guests will be treated to a three-course meal, a question-and-answer session with the stars, and an auction featuring rare and historic tour memorabilia. All profits will benefit the Lions Charitable Trust, which not only supports former Lions players in need, but also promotes grassroots rugby and community projects in the countries toured by the team.
