I’m a fan of Muji, constantly finding delicious little surprises among its offerings. It always has a terrific collection of little washbags, pouches and travelling accessories. This winter check out its collection of kimono-wrapped accessories. Most of the fabrics, from kimonos, have been discarded, were leftovers or considered seconds, though it’s hard to spot a flaw. Now Muji has used them for bags and purses.

A kimono-fabric clutch purse is £2.50, while a coin purse is £2.80. There’s a huge choice of fabrics, in all sorts of colourways and patterns, all of them enchanting, each different.
