Fresh from Lithuania, a quite perfect linen hand towel

I have a soft spot for old-fashioned linen hand towels, the sort that one imagines are stowed away in the right kind of grandmother’s attic. Those of us lacking handy grannies can buy them for ourselves from Balineum, a website new to me that specialises in bath towels and linens.

Among the items on the site is the Felicia lace guest towel (pictured). Designed by Inga Lukaushiene, it is made in Lithuania from Lithuanian linen and hand-trimmed with lace, and it is quite perfect. Each one is £10.
