Keep the spilt gravy off the dining-room chairs with simple loose covers. They’re easy to remove, simple to wash. Aram Store has some exceptionally charming trompe l’oeil versions which would liven up any dining room. On a white canvas background are trompe l’oeil prints of a series of old-fashioned chairs – choose from a picture of a blue retro chair, a purple ornate vintage one, a typical café chair in green and a rustic brown wooden one (all pictured).

The covers should fit almost any standard dining chair, measuring 42cm wide by 34cm deep and 88cm high. They’re £85 a time.
