The craft kits are cool, while the owls are an absolute hoot

Madeleine Rogers launched Mibo in 2001 as a lighting brand in response to the “notable lack of interesting lighting on the market”. A decade on, this nichest-of-niche labels has expanded to encompass wallpapers, cushions, prints and some particularly tempting craft kits, all bearing her signature clean, graphic and ever so slightly retro take on floral prints.

The site is accessibly small, consisting of seven compact departments (Paper Animals, Mibo Prints, Tea Towel Projects, Tile Tattoos, Wallpapers, Cushions and Lampshades), and if you like her particular aesthetic, then you will love everything on offer, from the Clacket Lane wallpaper (£39 for a 10m roll) to the Aldeburgh lampshade (£29.25) and the Kellen Turquoise cushion (second picture, £29.95).

And then there are those craft projects. The waterproof vinyl tile tattoos (first picture, £12.50 for a set of eight) are a brilliantly simple – and chic – solution to the problem of boring wall tiles, but it’s the cut-out-and-stick 3-D paper animals that, even if you don’t have children, you’ll find hard to resist. The Wise Guys owl family is quite simply the most gorgeous thing I have seen on my screen this year (third picture, £7 for a set of four owls).
