Set up by French sisters Elodie Bodie and Karine Fou, this “online concept store” sells a sharp selection of home and fashion accessories, contemporary designer furniture, lighting, art prints, children’s kit, baby-wear and retro gifts. Bodie and Fou’s slightly quirky, personal approach appeals to clients such as Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer who probably welcome its less overtly commercial style.

Bestsellers include Normann Copenhagen’s unusually shaped, stemless, “rolling” cognac glasses (second picture, £34.50), and it’s typical of the site’s chatty tone that shoppers are helpfully advised to purchase the liqueur glasses (same shape but slightly smaller – and cheaper, at £32.70) when buying for women. Another bestseller is Clare Vivier’s glamorous La Tropézienne leather tote (first picture, £210), which, we’re told, now graces the arm of Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Easy navigation means that a single click whisks you to your desired department. A Gift Guide is divided into gifts for “him, her, mother & child, petits gifts up to £20 [Kathleen Hills’ china sugar lump holder, third picture, £16.99, is very chic], retro gifts and wedding gifts”, among others, while an Interiors Notebook is currently hot on eco designs.

Meanwhile, a New Arrivals section lets you dip in quickly without trawling the whole site for fresh ideas. An A-Z of featured designers, a monthly competition and the sisters’ blog complete a very user-friendly package.
