There are many ways of storing all those small things that seem essential to modern life – the lipsticks, the jewellery, the pencils and paperclips. If you were of a rustic turn of mind, you could go for a series of cute little pandanus boxes (second picture, from £9 from The Holding Company). If you are more romantically inclined, there are enchanting Marilyn Monroe-bedecked boxes (first picture, from £11 from The Holding Company).

But for the modernist there are some chicly stunning boxes designed by Stefanie Keppler and Ingo Fremer. They feature bright colours and cubist patterns and are made of acrylic glass (third picture). Each measures 18cm x 18cm x 5cm and they cost £39.50 each from Aram Store.
