I discovered this colourful and satisfying LED light sculpture in a last-minute search for a suitably daft Christmas stocking filler. It exceeded expectations to the extent that I started to worry it wasn’t sufficiently silly for this slot; it is really very pretty. Its seven Tetris-style blocks can be endlessly rearranged in configurations up to 35cm or so in height and, with a little fiddling, they all light up. It’s mains powered but runs cold, so there’s no danger of fire or electrocution, though it’s not quite toddler friendly.
