It’s asparagus time and the best way to cook it (if you’re not creating something fancy with the grill or oven) is to steam it upright. I’m a bit of a Lakeland fan myself. Its catalogue is curiously cheering as it seems to reflect a cosy, domestic world, far removed from urban angst.
It has just the thing for the job, an asparagus kettle at the sensible price of £14.99. And it’s just as good for steaming corn on the cob.
