Abahna is a small company that is nothing like as well known as it deserves to be. Its founders believe that in these busy times we should all be indulging in deliciously fragrant, relaxing and reinvigorating baths. To this end they have created a range of seductive, natural products, which are being relaunched this autumn with lovely packaging and new fragrances – mandarin and Sicilian bergamot, lilac rose and geranium, frangipani and orange blossom, and white grapefruit and May Chang (a Chinese berry).
The products make terrific presents. Top of the range, for me, is The Ceremony of Bathing Box (pictured, £150, to order), a collection of 10 essential oils and a little bowl and spoon to mix them with the unfragranced bath foam, oil and salts. The triple-milled vegetable soaps (£9.50 each) have a lovely rich, creamy lather, while the reed diffuser (£35) is a beautiful etched glass bottle with reeds to diffuse any of the four scents mentioned above.
