I mentioned recently on Technopolis TV my theory that the iPhone 5 has reached a sort of terminal velocity as regards thinness, and that if it were any thinner it would start to feel uncomfortable in the hand. (Loving the 5, by the way; has anyone else noticed that the call quality, both received and transmitted, is better than on earlier models?)
Well, I had a similar terminal velocity thought a few years ago when Gillette brought out the first five-blade razor. How, exactly, would you follow that? Interestingly (to me), there’s been no attempt by the company to make, say, a six-blade version. And while Gillette obviously has a nice little business selling five-blade refills at extortionate prices, now that everybody else is in that market it is clearly still thinking up new products.
This, the Fusion ProGlide 3-in-1 Styler is just that, and a rather excellent office or business travel companion it is, too, especially if you have a beard or, like me, unruly sideburns and eyebrows that require regular attention. Its combined design is ingenious – almost too ingenious, bordering on downright complicated – but as an odd hybrid of wet razor and electric trimmer for anything from a full-on shave to in-office emergency repairs, it’s currently the best a man can get.
