He was the youngest chef patissier to grace The Savoy, but this week – and until New Year’s Eve – the now very established William Curley (pictured) is taking his talents to another of London’s five-star hotels for what looks set to be a delicious pop-up.
The Front Room of the St Martins Lane hotel will be converted into a giant chocolate box offering passers-by Curley’s award-winning chocolates (think Muscovado caramels and Nostalgia jaffa cakes), along with takeaway hot chocolate for those on the go, and White Chocolate Martinis (specially created for the pop-up) for those sitting in.
But that’s not all. To coincide with National Chocolate Week (until October 16), William Curley will also be offering an assortment of chocolate masterclasses, quirky pairing events – whisky and chocolate, for example – and speed-tasting evenings. And, in homage to the literary scene’s most revered of chocolatiers, Curley will also be hiding golden tickets in his chocolate bars, offering customers the chance to win a host of prizes, including a free three-month membership to the Curley Chocolate Club.
