A new specialist Caribbean airline called Fly Montserrat (www.flymontserrat.com) has just launched out of Montserrat, offering on-demand private charters of a nine-seater Britten-Norman Islander between the 14 islands, among them Anguilla, Barbuda, St Barths and St Eustatius. It will also serve larger islands such as St Lucia where, right on the beach that lies between the Pitons, The Jalousie Plantation (www.thejalousieplantation.com) is undergoing a major refurbishment pending its reinvention as The Tides Sugar Beach, part of the US Kor Group that includes the super-stylish Tides hotels in Miami and on the Riviera Maya and the Viceroy brand, the latest of which has recently opened in Anguilla (www.viceroyanguilla.com; doubles from $594). In the meantime, a high proportion of the elegant new colonial-style Luxury Villas at Jalousie are already open, and available at a reduced rate of $540 until December 18.
