In Switzerland, the man who put Miami’s Setai on the map has moved from being a general manager to a global hotelier; at the end of this month, Nira Alpina (www.niraalpina.com; from SFr455, about £325) opens, the second property in MPS Puri’s Nira Hotels & Resorts. The ski-in, ski-out 70-room hotel will be at Surlej in the Engadine Valley, just along from St Moritz, where the Glacier Express train remains one of the best rail journeys in Europe.
