The Missoni clan now has its own chain of hotels, the second of which opened last month in Kuwait. Hotel Missoni Kuwait (www.hotelmissoni.com; from £220) has 169 rooms kitted out in the firm’s signature joy-fest of technicolour stripes, checks and weaves, gracing walls, furniture, throws and coffee cups (with, in between, serious pieces by midcentury icons Hans Wegner and Eero Saarinen). A slightly outré amenity: Maserati transfers to and from the airport. A sure-to-please one: the 14,000sq ft Six Senses Spa.
