For game-changing polish, Mallorca’s Cap Rocat hotel got it right when it opened in 2010. This 24-suite hotel is the closest Spain gets to an Amanresort. Now Cap Rocat has a new Balearic sister: Torralbenc (; from €165), which has just opened on Menorca’s south coast. Twenty-seven rooms with limestone walls and wooden beam ceilings have been created out of 19th-century, whitewashed farm buildings set among 70 acres of countryside. The nearest sandy beach is a 15-minute bike ride away, with cycling offering an appropriate pace for the sleepiest of the Balearics.
