Gherkin is now on the menu in London

Hitherto restricted to those who work in the Norman Foster tower known as the Gherkin in London, the restaurant on its 39th and 40th floors, 40|30 (www.searcys.co.uk), will open up this month to members of the new Searcy’s Club, before welcoming the public in January. The 360-degree views are sensational; the food pretty good; and it’s the only place I’ve ever dined where the maître d’ consults with the host over the pace at which he or she would like the courses served.
