In London, one of the city’s most storied hotels has enjoyed the creative attentions of a much-venerated fashion designer. The Diane von Furstenberg Rooms at Claridge’s (www.claridges.com; from £811) manifest the signature DvF look – warm, insouciantly sexy, colourful but never over-adorned – without sacrificing those good Claridge’s bones.
Thus, large-scale Chinese florals and graphic prints play nicely with original cornices and interbellum marble baths (the Piano Suite, pictured, is a particularly winning blend of old-new). Six to eight of the 20 rooms and four suites will be open in time for London Fashion Week, which kicks off on September 17.
