Thailand has become quite the modish destination for medical tourism. To which end, the just-opened Paresa (www.paresaresorts.com; doubles from $825), which sits on an idyllic clifftop above the Kamala coast of Phuket, is probably the first seaside resort hotel to offer in-house dentistry. The hotel is confident that “ceramic restorations and crowns” have their part to play in “the ultimate pampering holiday”. Just as well, perhaps, that the majority of its 49 villas and suites have private infinity pools so guests can lie low after treatment.
