Decadent gastronomy in London, and a feast for the eyes in Oxford

A marquee name from the New York culinary scene has arrived in London, with the opening of Bar Boulud (pictured; www.barboulud.com) in the Mandarin-Oriental Hyde Park. The sister to Daniel Boulud’s Manhattan establishment of the same name will lean on similarly decadent gastronomy (note the full charcuterie bar) and full-bodied wines.

And in Oxford, Raymond Blanc has put the finishing touches on four new themed suites at old-school Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons (www.manoir.com; suites from £920). Designed in collaboration with Emily Todhunter, they’re massive by any measure and bursting with luxurious finishes: mirrored French doors and trompe l’oeil walls in the Orangerie suite, grass panelling and ornate brass-work in the Jade.
