Three years ago it was taken out of production, but this year the Vespa PX is back. The classic design was recently reinstated as a key model in Vespa’s stable, and this month – in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification – the popular motor is being given an appropriately patriotic revamp.

Stamped with stripes in red, white and green atop a classic silver finish, and sporting the official anniversary logo, the Vespa PX 125 Anniversario will be available only in the UK in the very limited quantity of 50 models (25 have just gone into stores now, and a further 25 will follow later this month), accompanied by – of course – a selection of limited-edition scooter paraphernalia, including a swish anniversary helmet, and – for those really keen to embrace the PX’s yesteryear aesthetic – some vintage riding goggles.
