British-designed Vita Audio’s reputation continues its exponential soar to radio stardom. This, its latest mono tabletop digital set, is an evolution of its three-year-old R1 model and is very possibly the most stylish radio you can currently buy. Gone is the manky, 1970s-esque display screen that digital radios all have. In is a clear, bright screen with bigger, better-looking lettering that yells superior quality. You can now see the name of the station you’re listening to from across the room.

The sound, thanks to the 3.5in speaker and 9-watt amplifier, is exceptional. Better alarms, sleep and snooze modes, plus the option to set the backlight to time out or turn off completely, make it a perfect bedside radio. And there’s a 3.5mm input on the rear for MP3 players, as well as audio and headphone outputs.
