Lovers of all things typographic are well served these days, but it’s always a joy to come across another store dedicated to the graphic arts – after all, no one can own too many letterpress postcards, can they?
Unlimited Editions is the retail arm of the graphic design practice, Unlimited. As you’d expect from a shop owned by a couple, Patrick and Sara Morrissey, trained at the London College of Printing, it is filled with extremely classy examples of design art.
Knowledgeable visitors can browse by artist, but by far the easiest way to shop is simply to click on Products and visit each of the 12 departments in turn. All contain something tempting – Jewellery, for example, boasts a necklace made from a silver chain and a vintage Scrabble tile (£14), Vintage features handmade notebooks made from Ladybird book covers (second picture, One Balloon notebook; contact Unlimited Editions for details), and Postcards has a set of very pleasing imprints of Sussex moths (£10).
But it’s the prints that prove irresistible. My favourites (and there are many) include a limited-edition silkscreen print entitled Fun (£35), the Signals no.2 A-Z limited-edition giclée print (£180), and a striking letterpress print called Love Unlimited (first picture, £35).
