A strange but beguiling marriage of wordplay and graphics

Woop Studios is an online gallery dedicated to the celebration and illustration of collective nouns. It might sound a slightly odd concept, but if you enjoy a bit of poetic word play and have a penchant for illustrative prints (from £69 unframed), then prepare to whoop with joy, for here is a world where unicorns come in “Blessings”, woodpeckers in “Descents”, and Larks in “Exaltations”.

Each of these charming phrases (and you can explore the whole collection in “Fun with Words”) has been turned into an exquisite limited-edition signed print – and I have to warn you that buying is addictive. I began with “An Army of Ants” (first picture) but I know I won’t rest until I reach a “A Zeal of Zebras” (second picture).
