“While we were making the last album,” says Coldplay’s Chris Martin, “we built a special wall in our studio and, together with the artist Paris, sprayed it, wrote on it and threw things at it until it eventually became the artwork for Mylo Xyloto.” The original is being shown for the first time this week in an exhibition at Proud Galleries, with all proceeds from the sales going to Kids Company, a charity that provides emotional and educational support for vulnerable children.

The eye-poppingly vibrant and vast graffiti wall (measuring 7.2m x 2.5m) was created using spray paint and markers on timber-frame-mounted PVC and is available for a cool £1m. Displayed alongside will be a smaller, five-panel wall painted by young children from Kids Company (£10,000).

Those lacking the space to accommodate such a magnificent piece can invest instead in one of three unique paintings by Coldplay and Paris. Cartoon Heart (first picture), Hypnoflow and Xylobryte are colourful, boisterous artworks (measuring 90cm sq, £50,000) that have been spray painted on canvas and signed by all the band members and Paris.

Alternatively, fans can purchase one of three high-quality digital prints of the Mylo Xyloto album artwork (second picture, £9,000). Each comes in a limited edition of eight and is signed by all the band members. Three high-quality digital prints of the album artwork, each in a limited edition of 650 and signed by Paris, are also available for £250.

“The support Coldplay has given us over the years has been amazing,” says Camila Batmanghelidjh, founder and CEO of Kids Company. “With all the proceeds from this show going to the charity, Coldplay fans should go see, dig deep and feel the harmony.”
