For those who like their things to come with a proper artistic provenance, Damien Hirst’s retail venture aims to do just that. The two London shops, both called Other Criteria, specialise in selling a range of objects, clothing and books, all created by artists.

There are Hirst-designed key-rings for £3.50, Sarah Lucas and Olivier Garbay’s book on the whole subject of art, The Mug (pictured), for £75, and Other Criteria T-shirts, from £20. Those with fatter wallets will find that there’s plenty to tempt them, too, including vases by Paola Petrobelli (from £1,650).
